Artist Statement

“Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated with what one is capable of producing with various art supplies. I would draw and paint on anything I could find in the house, including an old Christmas tree box. My first experimentation started with graphite pencils. Unfortunately, I disliked the limitations that graphite pencils offered in color and began looking elsewhere. In high school, I fell in love with the wide array of colors that watercolor, acrylic, and colored pencil offered me. My favorite part about art is transforming a white piece of paper into something beautiful.”

“My art is divided into two categories: personal work and commissions. As I continue my journey as an artist, my desire is to continue to learn more and experiment more with my art materials. I enjoy challenging myself to bigger and better goals, and once those are met, I go even bigger. Lastly, I love sharing my art knowledge that I have acquired over the years with others and share in the joy of art making.”

“My main goal as an artist is to simply inspire the world and I think Salvador Dali puts it best, “A true artist is not one who is inspired, but one who inspires others.””

Personal Work

“My personal work focuses on nature, architecture, and old, rusted objects. Nature in itself is art to me and I am so fascinated by it that I feel the need to paint such beauty. I feel as if I am taking my audience on a tour to beautiful places in my artwork while also showing them what is meaningful to me. I enjoy being the master of my paintings and having unlimited freedom. I rarely stick with my reference pictures. I prefer to alter what I am referencing whether that is combining multiple pictures or enriching colors.”

Commissions

“Commissions are custom artworks that I offer my customers. I give my clients full reign as to what they would like for me to paint. Subjects that my customers have requested before are animals, people, landscapes, seascapes, and architecture. I also paint on multiple surfaces such as paper, canvas, fabric, wood, and glass. My favorite thing about working on commissions is being able to provide something meaningful to my customers. Sometimes a loved one or a family pet has passed away and I am able to provide them with a special keepsake that will last forever. I also offer the option of combining multiple reference pictures. I am able to create a new memory in the form of a painting that wasn’t captured in the past through a photograph. Lastly, I absolutely love the reactions that come from my commissions such as smiles or tears of joy.”
